WHA and CHA generally hold their Annual Conferences in November each year.  The conference location rotates through each state and territory in Australia as well as in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand.

2009 WCHA Annual Conference, Brisbane  9-13 November

2008 CHA/AWCH Annual Conference, Sydney  17-21 November

Co-convened by Children's Hospitals Australasia (CHA) and the Association for the Wellbeing of Children in Healthcare (AWCH). Our two organisations joined forces to highlight the importance of advocating strongly for the healthcare needs of children and young people in Australasia. 

The key themes were:

  ‘The People’ – the shared concerns amongst health professionals and the families struggling with serious health issues;
   ‘The Map’ – contemporary trends and developments in healthcare practice, policy and environments; and
   ‘The Measure’ – how we can best monitor, evaluate and improve the safety and quality of health care delivered to children and young people.


2008 WHA Conference, Sydney 19-21 November

Minding our Ps and Qs! Partnerships and Quality in Women's Healthcare. 

The key themes that were explored at this Conference included:

  Partnerships and networks

  Ambulatory care options

  Quality and risk management

  Addressing diversity

  Partnering with women to improve gynaecological and maternity care

  Roles and responsibilities in the workplace

  Reflecting on our performance

2007 Adelaide Conference, South Australia 12-16 November

 The theme of the 2007 conference was 'Changing our Spots: Adapting to Lifestyle Trends ' and focussed on how hospitals are adapting to manage emerging health risks arising from changes in lifestyle.


2006 Launceston Conference,Tasmania 13-17 November

The theme of the 2006 conference was 'Teaming with Talent ' and focussed on innovations in multidisciplinary, team-based health care.


2005 Christchurch Conference, New Zealand 9-13 May

The theme of the 2005 conference was "Through The Looking Glass - Sharing The Vision".
