Consumers

While WHA and CHA were initally formed to meet the needs of management and staff of specialist women's and children's hospitals, where possible each organisation considers the needs of consumers in developing advocacy strategies.

Many of our past conferences have included a special section on patient satisfaction, consumer input and strategies to be more inclusive of parents, partners, carers and families in the care of the patient. They will continue to do so.

Our Clinical Forum Program aims to include the views of patients and consumers wherever possible and often a consumer representative is sought to assist on the Expert Reference Group which oversights the research and development of a Forum topic.

CHA has a special relationship with organisations such as the Association for the Wellbeing of Children in Healthcare AWCH , the Royal Far West Children's Health Scheme and the Starlight Children's Foundation .

Both WHA and CHA  always welcome input from consumer organisations who have the health and welfare of women and children at heart.
